Winter Fair Workshop: Old Fashioned Quilt Turning
Thursday, December 26, 2019 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Museums of Early South Decorative Arts at the Horton Museum Center
Workshop Description: Experience history hands-on! Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts curatorial class. Because of their large size and light sensitivity, only a small number of MESDA’s quilts can be on display at once. This is your chance to go behind the scenes into our textile vault with MESDA textile expert Jenny Garwood to see and touch (with gloves!) some of the rarest quilts in our collection. You’ll also learn how to take care of your own family heirlooms!
Cost: $50 per person for Old Fashioned Quilt Turning only.
Workshop Location: Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts. Free parking at the Old Salem Visitor Center, 900 Old Salem Road. Walk across the Heritage Bridge to the Horton Museum Center.
