Experience history hands-on!  A fundraising event for Old Salem Museums and Gardens features a hands-on workshop in Redwork, the embroidery popular in the late 1800s when E.A. Vogler built and operated the “The Ladies Furnishing Store,” now known as the Moravian Book & Gift Shop. Learn the basic embroidery stitches used in Redwork. Choose a heart design from our selection and stitch using the traditional red cotton thread. We will also have the later blue and purple colors if you prefer. You’ll discover ideas on how to use your sampler to make a pincushion, framed design or use in a larger quilt project.

Cost:  $50 per person for Workshop only.

Workshop Location: Salem Stitches, 151 West Street, or Rear entrance at Moravian Book and Gift.

*Maximum of 16 per class. Beginners welcome. All supplies included.  Children under 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
