Description
Moravian stars were traditionally made in Moravian boarding schools in the nineteenth century during the Advent season. Because of this historians believe the making of stars may have been a math lesson where students learned to draw and make geometrical shapes from paper. One of the shapes was a pyramid. By gluing the pyramids together a multi-pointed star was created.
Our Paper Moravian Star is created by a Winston-Salem artisan using that early method. He meticulously cuts, folds, and glues each pyramid or cone to form a perfect Moravian star. The 2.75″ diameter star is a perfect size for a feather tree or small nativity. Each star will arrive in a kraft paper box.
